Racism in Publishing and Search Engines

When it comes to racism just about every non white writer has felt it in their career at one time or another. 

If you were to query 'The Greatest Writers of all Times' in any given search engine... in every case you will have a list before you showing mainly white males... with very few white females.

None are Latino, Asian or African-American.

What is disturbing, JK Rowling's made the list, her body of work has only produce two classics, and the second hardly rival the first.

Yet she made it onto the list.

We must also obliterate the notion books sales does not always says you are a better writer then another less selling author.

Yet Lin Manual Miranda and my self included we do not make it onto that exclusive list.

As of this moment I have ten classics under my bookbelt yet not a peep from major newspapers and TV outlets, while Mr Miranda is celebrated on Broadway and his works made into films.

Yet he does not make the list!

Perhaps if our names were Anglo we might have gone under the radar. 

Example: Moran or Morgan, or Strat or Stratacastor.

It is obvious there is something going on here.

Regardless what you think of Lin's works and him as a person he should have been on that list.

Search engines are the new racism propaganda machine today. In the passed I have searched sketches of black people for a project, I mainly got sketches of black criminals wanted.

The publishing industry is guilty in their own way for not pushing enough non white writers to the four front...or supporting them like their white counterparts.

If you want to make a difference for one week do not buy or search anything online as an act of protest... starting the first of every November... tell friends and relatives its a November Storm Protest month' and explain what it is all about.

Latino Writers Matter, Asian Writers Matter, Black Writers Matter.

If we don't fight for equality the virus of racism will over take us and THIS is where we are all going to end up at!
