With today’s rash in shootings and racial violence the reported rate has become common place in the news, his goal is to help extinguish the flames of hate where a new generation of Millennials can save lives.

Max Stravagar became interested in crimes against humanity early in life, as well as racial violence prevention.

As a child he survived a lynching along with a brother of his and mutual black and Latino friends, racial tensions in NYC was at an all time high. It was a summer afternoon hot and thirsty; they entered a recreational park to drink some water; instead, they were relentlessly chased after.

From behind back alleys and roof tops, bullets whizzed past their direction, and eventually were trapped inside a restaurant, a crowd began to form, and ropes made into nooses hanged down from apartment windows.

A few unlikely good Samaritans stepped forward saving their lives.

When they made it out of that terrible situation, parents and protesters and local organizers led a sit down protest, the park was quickly integrated soon after.

As a teenager, he joined a few black and Latino gangs, and helped to drug traffic for the mafia and wiseguys in his neighborhood, later they would allow his friends of different nationalities to form a crew of their own, that would promote good will, which racial tensions and riots had become bad for business.

After surviving the mean cold streets with a degree in guns and bullets and multiple near death calls or misses, and the injustice he endured, His book Hope River is a fictional story dealing with some of these topics and issues.

Set in the 1700’s where slavery and racism in America is a part of everyday normal life, a slave name Doug Winston finds freedom by faking his death in a remarkable attempt; this decision would alter the path of his destiny for better or worse.
